In our Indian culture Guests are treated like God. They are given respect and care. You should
be concerned and caring towards them. Indian wedding celebrations are get together of friends
and relatives. During a wedding ceremony in the family relatives and friends from distant places
come to attain the function. That time it is the responsibility of the bride and groom's family
to take proper care of their guests whom they have invited for the occasion. Some of the ways
they can take proper care of their guests are as follows:
If your guest is outstation people than there should be airport and station pick-ups and drop-offs
for them. Because the guests may not be familiar with the city where the marriage ceremony is
taking place. So if you can't go personally send some family member or a close friend to take
charge of the airport and railway station transfers. In that case, write a small apology note.
It is also a good idea for the receiving party to carry placards with names of the expected
guests to avoid confusion. Arrange for a proper accommodation, if you cannot accommodate in
your home than send them at proper hotel near to the wedding venue so that they don't have to
travel long distances. Welcome them with gifts and welcome letter in all their rooms. Arrange
for a car so that they can go for shopping and sight seeing. There should be an escort who will
guide them in sight seeing and shopping. Make proper arrangements so that they can reach on time
for the various wedding functions. Arrange a co-coordinator who can inform them of the daily
ceremonies and functions. There should be proper entertainment arrangements for children. So
that your guests have a good time and are completely at ease during the entire wedding
celebrations. In addition to the meals you will also need to provide for in-between snacks,
tea and coffee. You should also take care of their health incase there is any emergency. To
budget your expenses take your family and friend's cars. You could also organize a trip to
the local zoo or museum to keep the kids entertained for a few hours. Guests may also require
assistance in handling air ticket changes, reservations and train tickets. This is mainly done
to ensure that the guests are having a good time. All these planning should be done in advance
to avoid any kind of confusion later on. This is mainly done to make them feel at home. This
will not only make your guests comfortable and happy, as they will cherish the memories forever.
